From the moment of their formation in 2008, Quatuor Hermès has enjoyed recognition around the world. During their celebrated career the musicians have embarked on numerous concert tours of Europe, Asia, the United States andSouth America. They have played in Morocco, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates and took part in all major music festivals in France and around the world, including Flâneries Musicales in Reims, Radio France Montpellier, Périgord Noir, Orangerie de Sceaux, Festival de Pâques in Deauville and in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.
The quartet won many prestigious prizes, placing first in, among others, the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York and in the Concours International de Musique de Chambre in Lyon. The Quartet also received the title of “Discovery of the Year” in the Prix de la Critique 2014-15. Many meetings made an impact on the ensemble’s creative output. Especially important were encounters with the Ravel, Ysaÿe and Artemis Quartets. Drawing on their experience, the musicians of Hermès shaped their skills and developed a consistent musical vision. Exceptional personalities like Eberhard Feltz and Alfred Brendel became valuable sources of inspiration for members of the Quartet, who continue to work with them to this day.
Quatuor Hermès hasrecorded two albums for the La Dolce Volta label. The album containing Schumann’s three string quartets received the prestigious “Choc” rating of Classica magazine in 2015 and wasenthusiastically reviewd by such periodicals as the Strad Magazine and Télérama. In 2017 theensemble released an album containing string quartets by Debussy, Ravel and Dutilleux. In theyears 2012-2016 the musicians of the Quartet were artists in residence in the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Brussels. Since 2015 Quatuor Hermès has been supported by the Banque Populaire Foundation.
