In December 2017 Dawid Runtz has been appointed a principal conductor of Polish Royal Opera in Warsaw. In 2016 graduated from The Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw on the Symphony and Opera Conducting in the class of Maestro Antoni Wit. During that time he made debut with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. The special point in his career was participating in “Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy” in Ravenna, guided by prominent and world class conductor Riccardo Muti – Director of Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In 2018 Dawid Runtz received an invitation for audition for Assistant Conductor of Boston Symphony Orchestra. He also conducted during 22. Easter Ludwig van Beethoven Festival in Warsaw Philharmonic.
In January 2018 Dawid Runtz won 3rd Prize and Audience Prize at 1st Hong Kong International Conducting Competition as the youngest conductor of the competition. In 2016 he won second prize at 6th Witold Lutosławski Conducting Competition in Bialystok. In 2013, he won second Prize and Special Prize at 1st Adam Kopyciński’s National Competition for Students of Conducting in Wroclaw. In 2014 he was invited to participate in the 1st International Forum of Young Conductors in Zielona Gora, individually representing Poland.
Besides conducting achievements Dawid Runtz succeeded as a composer. In 2010 he won his first prize at Nationwide Competition for Young Composers Uczniowskie Forum Muzyki in Warsaw under the patronage of Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, for the work ‘Evolution’ for chamber orchestra. In followed year he won prize at International Young Composers Competition “Euritmia” in Italy for the work ‘Capriccio per flauto solo’.
In 2015 he received a scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Republic of Poland as well as scholarship of Marshal of Pomeranian Province. In years 2008 – 2015 he received a scholarship of district governor of Wejherowo. For his education achievements in years 2012-2016 he was beneficiary of a scholar of The Frederic Chopin’s University of Music Rector. Moreover twice he received President’s of Wejherowo City Award for achievements in music. In 2018 Dawid Runtz received Medal Magna cum Laude given by Frederic Chopin University of Music as the second conductor in the history of the University and Rose Medal by President of Wejherowo City.
Since 2017, due to scholar of Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Republic of Poland, he has become an assistant conductor to Maestro Jacek Kaspszyk in Warsaw Philharmonic. In 2017 he participated in prestigious masterclass in conducting led by Maestro Daniele Gatti with The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam as one of four selected conductors. In July 2017 he made his conducting debut in Japan during “Pacific Music Festival” in Sapporo. In 2018 Dawid Runz took part in Tanglewood Music Festival in USA where he improved conducting skills. In 2018 Dawid Runtz made a tournee with Sinfonia Varsovia in Lithuania as a part of 100. anniversary of independence of Republic of Poland. In November 2018 he conducted the opening concert of Krzysztof Penderecki Festival with Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra in day of 85th birthday anniversary of the composer. In 2019 Dawid Runtz did a tounree with Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuwait and became a music director of the spectacle “Cosi fan tutte” by Mozart in Polish Royal Opera in Warsaw.
